Hello all,

This is my first post on this board so I figured that I'd better start of right with a report. With all of my usual steelhead rivers blown out, I decided to hit Lower Granite dam on Saturday and do some trolling with an old friend. It was a beautiful day with no wind and only one other boat in sight (lots of bankies though). The best part was that I had barely gotten my rod in the water when my plug was literally slammed!!

This fish hit hard and just kept on going, stripping off at least 200 feet of line and finally jumping and trashing the surface nearly 300 feet from the boat. I had my hands full for nearly twenty minutes, but finally brought this beast to the net with only one barb of my lower treble hook barely hanging in its mouth. This buck was the biggest steelhead of my career taping out at 38.5" x 20.5" and the meat was still in pretty good shape. One steak from this fish was enough to feed two people!! I hope to be able to upload the photo but may have trouble so wish me luck!!

We also saw the bankies hook several fish on bobbers and jigs, so it was a pretty good day for all. That strike was the only one for us for the day, but I'm still quite glad we went. I'm already wishing that I could get back down there but alas, I too must work.

I hope that all of you have a very Merry Christmas, a happy New Year and many tight lines in your futures!!

Peace, Eastside.

At least one fish weight calculator puts that at 21#--bigger than anything I've ever curbed. Congrats on the fish, and welcome aboard.

Hi Eastside, Congratulations on the hog! How's it going with the photo? I hope you haven't given up on that.

Hello all,

While I still haven't been able to figure out how to imbed a picture in a post, I at least was able to upload a shot of this hog in the photo gallery. Its currently picture #69 of 120 in the Fish and People section. Hope you all had a Happy New Year. See you on the water!!
