Who's on the list?

This year has been terrible for me so far. I am hoping things will change and am actually somewhat entertained at the idea of making so many trips and no fish.

I have this great 8' steelhead fly rod, new reel, and new line. To be honest, this pole is a steelhead virgin (as am I this year) It has now made three trips to a certain favorite river and has caught no steelhead. I did have the opportunity with having my line hooked to doubleD's as he caught a steelhead, but this just isn't the same.

I will keep you all posted in my miserable season. I will also add that I have made a few trips to the Columbia River and been blanked as well.

All in all, the score is 5 to zero. Steelhead winning. I think I single handily am impacting the creel report.

LOL!

It's early still. You'll bust 'em out...have no fear Wink

I'll be on the GR next two weeks. I'm going to give the local streams a break. They're leaking out fish for sure, but it's only gonna get better as October wears one.

My brother went out the other night and reported seven catches with three guys on the boat at McNary. They only made it back with 4 though, as two were wilds and one was an escapee. Anyway, seems as though the fishing down there is starting to pick up...

Fishing there has been great. I have considered trolling a fly very slowly on a sinking line. Works for fat rainbows on the local lakes. Seems like it should work for fat sea run rainbows too Smile

Well Glock I am on your side so far 2 trips and O'fer. I am planning another trip to my favorite river and then another to the GR.

I am hoping for much bluer skies or should I say the repetitve chant of FISH ON!!!!

So to keep with this posting I am 2 to Zero, and if you count my last three trips from last year I am on an 0 for 5 myself.

I know there are fish in there because Dev88t and Scottlake were both catchin them right in front and beside me. Last year was a horrible year for FISH ON and then SNAP! Oh yeah the snap was my line breaking over and over, and I tried three different types of line last year.

I am going to try the line Dev88t was using this year and see if my success rate goes up any!

Anyway good luck to everyone and drive safely this weekend! It's supposed to be beautiful out there!

Well so much for the GR. Too many people! I'm bagging that river till it cools down (temp wise and traffic wise) and the rain comes in.

Back to the locals for me Smile
