Hi there, my name is Aaron i live in the portland area and am very much into the sturgeon, I have been a long time fan of the site and although my work schedule does not leave alot of time to go fishing i still love reading about it. thanks Eric (glock) for all your hard work. You make this site great with all your hard work and never ask for anything in return.
Anyways, i just noticed that we are up to 456 members so i started this thread to give everyone a chance to say hello and tell us a little about yourself. and throw a shout out to Eric (site admin) thanking him for a place to hang out.

My name is Eric (glock), your website administrator. I am a fish-a-holic..
I tend to fish eastern Washington waters year round and enjoy bass, trout, salmon, and steelhead. My favorite flavor is steelhead fishing with a fly rod on any small river. Of course, this is only good if the weather is freezing cold and it involves some sort of exploration.
Aaron,
Thanks for the appreciation. It is nice to see us gain momentum. We have a total of 456 registered users and receive at least 1000 unique visits a day. We couldn't do it without all of our members! A BIG thank you to all of you.

Hello, my name is Shawn. I too spend a ridiculus amount of time fishing, and when I'm not fishing I'm talking about fishing or daydreaming of where I'll fish next. Generally I spend between 100-150 days a year on various waters. I need help, lol. I hold steelheading closest to my heart, but also chase salmon, LM/SM bass, nearly all species of spiny ray, northern pike, tiger musky, various trout, etc... If it swims in freshwater, I look for a way to catch it, lol.
I am thankful for this website and enjoy reading the topics and debates. Special thanks to Glock and the rest of the gang for all the insight you provide to help gain interest and how-to info about our sport for fishermen (old & new) everywere.

Never been to an AA meeting, but I imagine they are a little like this: Hi my name is Mark and I've been struggling with my addiction for over 20 years. It has taken time away from my job, my family, and finacially has cost me dearly, yet it's hold on me is relentless. At night, I loose sleep, and during the day, I pine for my next fix... Sound familiar?
My favorite part about this site is that much of the connection and information shared here is most specifically centered around Eastern WA and Easter OR locations. I gre up on the Westside, and still get over there occasionally to fish, but I now consider the Eastside streams my home waters.

Im Scott, hence the name. Born and raised mid-columbian, and lived in Michigan for 3.5 years for college. I hold small stream fishing as god. In fact its all I do.
My favorite locations are as follows:
Tucannon
Touchet
Methow
Entiat
Tieton(not so much anymore)
Naches
and
Grande Rhonde
I enjoy ultra-light gear trout fishing the most and the labor of love (affair) with steelhead!

On second note.......... I found that this site was mostly dead even up to a few months ago. And since I began frequenting the site, it seems that traffic has picked up. The idea of lurkers and "non-inputters" doesnt make me too thrilled because alot of what I say here is from years of work, sweat, blood(yes blood), and tears. I hate to give away to those who really look to gain a free edge, but there is nothing that I like to help people who are just like me.
So to all of you like me, doesn't matter what you fish for, I'd love to help as long as you help me!
and good luck to the site(webmaster).
Scott

thanks for the thoughts and of course this site is still small but it will grow and become more interesting all the time.

Hi my name is Rich and I have a problem. (Hi Rich) I spend every waking moment of my free time by the river edge. (No) It's true, I am addicted. (No) Yes the adrenaline rush I get from each and every fish I hook, just keeps me coming back for more!!! lol
I agree with E-Mann these are cracking me up! I do however think this site has been a god send in many ways over the last couple of years. I share the same thoughts as many of you who are currently reading this. That is what makes this site so special, everyone who posts absolutely loves fishing with a passion
Keep posting and sharing information and don't worry only the real fishermen are going to go to those areas shared in the forums and have any success. You can tell someone exactly what your using and at what time you used it but if the person applying the technique doesn't know what their doing, it really won't matter that you gave them the information at all. It is still all a process of learning!!
My thanks to Glock as this site has improved my fishing skills immensly over the last couple of years.

Hi my name is Travis, and I too have a fishing problem. It all started two years ago when I hooked my first salmon. Then last year my first 20 some steelhead. It has taken over my life. All I do is think about fishing and go fishing in my free time. I have been fishing all my life, but the last two years I have been strictly focusing on salmon and steelhead. This problem has taken mcuh of my time and money, but hey, there are worse things to be addicted to right? I also say thanks to Eric for hosting this site. I have met some great people through this site, and hope to meet more of you.

Hello all, My name is Dan, and I aint got no stinking problem... (denial is the first stage of an addiction) I do my fair share of fishing. Bass mostly, but it is the time of year for steelhead. I stick pretty much to eastern WA, except for the occasional salmon trip to AK, steelhead trip to the O.P., and the spring bass swimbait bite in CA. Hopefully I can learn a lot, and pass on what I have learned.

My name is John. I'm a disabled vet who lives up in Tacoma now (moved here a week ago) and I'm looking forward to exploring the Puget sound by foot and pier. No boat yet. But I really like the idea of getting out and stumbling around, seeing what's running with the tide. I'll let you know what I find.

I'm Tom. I work as an orthodontist to support my fishing habit. I don't get out as much as I'd like, but when I do it is 95% with the fly rod. My typical fishing haunts are Lenore and Quincy Lakes area in the spring. Yakima and other small creeks in the summer and when open, the Methow for Steelies in the winter. I've also made it down to the Touchet and Tucannon a couple times. They were a blast.
If anyone needs info on the Wenatchee area, let me know.
Tom

I"m going to revive this thread a moment. It has been a year since it was started and I see that there is now 633 members. Almost a 200 member increase in the last year....not too shabby. Keep up the good work and I hope that I can bring something to this site.
BTW, fishing out of Baker City, OR. Trout and Steelhead are my main focus with a flyrod for the most part. I'm not affaid to grab the spinning gear though. See you on the water.
